Each month our owner Mark Melsness is busy preparing and delivering a Renters Readiness class at Landlord Liaison Program’s headquarters inside of Associated Ministries in Tacoma. “I enjoy this practical opportunity to give back to my community”, says Mark. Mark is a natural encourager and excellent communicator so this volunteer roles suites him well. “I particularly enjoy seeing those that thought they could never rent successfully, supply deposits and beginning renting a new home after completing the course.” The Landlord Liaison Program has over 100 units throughout Pierce County that provide housing opportunities to those typically with few to little housing options. You can contact LLP for help via United Way by dialing 211.

Spinnaker Property Management is engaged in serving the Tacoma community every day. We support our residents beyond their homes with encouraging words and financial solutions. We also engage those less fortunate in the community and service the needs of the greater community with donations. Below are two organizations we support on a regular basis.

Next Chapter

The courageous women at Next Chapter identify and address their barriers to housing. Each women this organization assists, creates a plan with the goal of securing stable housing as soon as possible for themselves and their children. Next Chapter provides not only assistance with housing stability but also life skills development, job skills training, financial literacy, behavioral health and legal assistance. Spinnaker Property Management has assisted several of these women by their gift in 2020. We hope to continue to find ways monetary and otherwise to support this important organization.

From founders Dr. Frank Senecal and Gordon Rush:

We are navigating a world that looks nothing like last year – except when it comes to cancer patients. New diagnosis continue to happen each day.  More than 1.5 million people will die from cancer this year. Much of the world has paused, but cancer simply does not pause. It ravages patients and their families, and creates even more distance for those undergoing cancer treatments. As a result the need to provide access to leading edge clinical research in the South Sound is more critical now than it has ever been. For many, it is their last line of defense.

Spinnaker is happy to provide generous donations to Beer and Bites annually  – we believe in this cause and support those who fight the unpausing disease of cancer.
