On July 19th, Sterling Inspection Group hosted an event at Bliss Small Batch Creamery in University Place, WA to gather donations for RaisingGirls.org. Together with many partners such as Gina Humphries with Edward Jones, Hollybaba Inc., Confete Party, Calen Nelsen with State Farm and Spinnaker Property Management, the real estate community raised awareness and gathered donations of sanitary products for girls to use in their daily life.
All About Raising Girls
Raising Girls is a Tacoma area organization that helps to provide hygiene and period supplies for girls who otherwise might not have access. Founded by Sharon Chambers-Gordon, the non-profit is able to bring the community together to provide comfort and peace for young girls.
Raising Girls’ mission statement:
Raising Girls addresses hygiene insecurity and period poverty by providing essential products to students and young adults in the Puget Sound area. As a trusted community resource, we partner with schools and local organizations to distribute care bags to those in need. We believe that timely and reliable access to hygiene and period supplies is vital for the health and well-being of our young people.
Raising Girls is able to lessen worry and build confidence in young girls in our community.
The non-profit founder, Sharon Chambers-Gordon, speaks of the impact Raising Girls has on the community:
Raising Girls aims to help ensure that all girls feel pride in who they are and understand the power they have to be unique individuals, who can make a difference. We provide necessary hygiene products to girls in the South Sound, while partnering with local organizations committed to serving our youth and providing essentials for a quality life.
