A Guide from Spinnaker Property Management
No matter if you are considering renting your first property, have been a renter for years or are moving from owning to renting, there is a lot to consider. Renting is a big part of everyone’s life and is often the first step in being independent as an adult. At Spinnaker, we would love to show you the rentals we have available whether you are currently renting from us or are new to our property management company.
Read on in this blog for more about the perks of renting and give us a call to set up a time to chat about your renting options!
Renting Can Be Cheaper Than Owning
While buying a home is an attractive investment for some people, it is not always cheaper to buy than to rent. The costs associated with buying a home are not only based on property taxes and maintenance, but also the down payment, closing costs, inspection fees, moving costs and everything else that goes along with. Owning a home can be a great goal for many people, but renting is a great option for many others.
When you own a home, the responsibility of maintenance issues falls into your lap alone. There isn’t really anyone who will manage these issues for you when you own a home unless you own a condo or similar type of home where there is an established maintenance plan. Typically, this isn’t the case with most homeowners.
When you rent, the responsibility of maintenance issues is outline in your renting contract and you can rely on your property manager to take care of issues that arise in a timely and efficient manner. At Spinnaker, we are proud to be on top of any issues that arise for our tenants and welcome you to call when you need help. Our maintenance number is (253)313-3311.
Renting can come with great amenities that you simply cannot have as a homeowner. These amenities include community gym memberships, lake access and private party areas. You can enjoy perks like unlimited Wi-Fi, security, garbage service and sometimes even in-house coffee shops and salon-spa services. Each property is different. Some don’t have these amenities, but there are many places that do! Ask a Spinnaker agent about properties that feature these services.
Concessions with renting are a little different than the idea of concessions that most people have in mind when they think of the term. When it comes to renting concessions, it’s not hot dogs and a beer, it’s discounts and adjustments made to rent, deposits or other fees. Tenants receive these discounts outlined in their rental contract and can be potentially given these concessions/discounts on a monthly, quarterly, annual or one time basis. Every agreement is unique to the home it comes with and your Spinnaker Property agent can talk more about this with you when you discuss your rental agreement.
