A review of the local cities booming with investment properties.

Our Pacific Northwest Cities

The Pacific Northwest real estate market is booming, and the variety of cities with various lifestyle features and investment opportunities is almost endless.

Pierce County, Federal Way, Joint Base Lewis McChord Air Force Base, Lakewood, Tacoma and Puyallup, make up the regions we love called the South Sound. Find out why this growing area is your best bet for your next move.
South Sound:

Near everything, Far From Ordinary

While Seattle may get all the press…good and bad.
While Bellevue may get all the attention…and new construction.
While Kirkland may be on people’s favorite destination list.
When it comes down to where people are wanting to move, you must look further south.

The South Sound is booming and we here at Spinnaker Property Management are not shocked.

The South Sound is generally comprised of Federal Way and Fife to the North, Joint Base Lewis McChord Air Force Base (JBLM to locals) to the south, Puyallup to the East and Lakewood to the West. Tacoma is the heart of the region both in size and influence.

This area has historically been perceived as the little sister to Seattle and the less important cousin to Olympia. But now, with mass transit ever-increasing and telecommuting growing in popularity, The South Sound is coming into its own!
Federal Way is a shopper’s paradise. Great shops and restaurants abound just minutes off the freeway. Additionally, Golf courses and parks are always green and beautiful.
Wild Waves, the region’s largest amusement park, lies right in between Fife and Federal Way and is one of Western Washington’s premier summer hangouts.

Puyallup is best known for its Western Washington Fair. Recently, it is also growing in its downtown scene. Fun little pubs line up the main drag so there is always somewhere fun to go.

Lakewood and Joint Base Lewis McChord Air Force Base are beautiful areas that have great shopping, golf, and restaurants.

The Appeal of Tacoma

But the heart of the Pierce County, South Sound area is Tacoma. Anyone who tries to throw shade on Tacoma hasn’t been there in years. University of Washington’s experiment with an urban campus in downtown Tacoma is a staggering success. The whole downtown area has transformed into a fun, hip, trendy area packed with restaurants, bars, and museums.

Tacoma Entertainment

Just west of South of Downtown Tacoma is the famous Tacoma Dome which hosts concerts, sporting events, and civic activities year-round. Plus, LeMay, ‘America’s Car Museum’ is right next door to the dome. Backed to the rafters with classic cars from every era and nearly every nation the LeMay is a ‘must-see’ for visitors and residents alike.

Ruston Way

But when it comes to transformations in the South Sound region, nowhere has seen so many upgrades as Ruston Way along the sound. For decades, people have been coming for the best local seafood and views, and now there are even more reasons. Point Ruston is a family-friendly development with shops and restaurants and a splash pad for the kids. All you need to do is get in the general vicinity of Ruston Way and you’ll find plenty of fun activities for the whole family.

And of course, Point Defiance is Tacoma’s crown jewel for the zoo, the beach, and the wonderful Five Mile Drive.

Those of us here at Spinnaker Property Management are glad to see so many people agreeing with us that the South Sound: Pierce County, Federal Way, Joint Base Lewis McChord Air Force Base, Lakewood, Tacoma, and Puyallup, offers the best that Western Washington can provide.
